Hi, I’m Claire, I specialise in supporting individuals living with long-term health conditions.
I support individuals living with chronic health conditions navigate the emotional and mental challenges that often come with long-term health conditions. My aim is to help you feel more in control and create a life that feels rich and meaningful - beyond your diagnosis.
Living with long-term physical health can feel like a constant balancing act. You might find yourself:
Feeling anxious, overwhelmed, or powerless.
Struggling with guilt when you need to rest or say no.
Worrying about losing your independence or feeling uncertain about the future.
Finding it hard to accept this new version of life.
In addition to health-related support, I also offer counselling for people who are feeling and experiencing:
Anxiety, panic, stress or feel burnt out.
Low motivation, finding even small tasks exhausting or unmanageable.
Feel disconnected with others.
Feel unworthy, or incapable, often comparing yourself unfavourably to others.
Have high standards for yourself, often accompanied by a fear of making mistakes.
Feel anxious at the thought of disappointing someone.
Struggling to accept life with a long-term / chronic physical health.
Feeling anxious about the uncertainty of living with a health condition.
Overwhelmed by the constant demands of managing your health.
How working with me can help you:
Regain a sense of control – Learn how to manage your health in a way that feels sustainable and empowering.
Set boundaries without guilt – Build confidence to speak up for your needs, ask for support, and protect your energy.
Reconnect with meaning beyond your illness – You are more than your diagnosis. We’ll explore what brings you joy and purpose.

Cope with uncertainty and loss – Work through the grief of how things used to be and strengthen your resilience to face what’s ahead.
Create a life that works for you – Honour your limits, redefine what success means to you, and shape a future that feels right for you.
Why work with me:
I understand, not just professionally but personally, what it’s like to live with a chronic health condition. I’ve lived with mine for most of my life. For a long time, I struggled deeply with accepting my diagnosis. I fought against it, hoping that if I just tried hard enough, I could return to the life I had before. That resistance took a toll, it affected my mental health, left me feeling depressed, and made me believe there was something wrong with me.
Through counselling, I began to truly accept my condition. I found a space where I could be honest about how much I was struggling. Over time, with the support of my therapist, I was able to move toward acceptance - not as a sign of giving up, but as a way of finding peace with my reality. That shift had a profound impact on my wellbeing and gave me the strength to manage my condition in a kinder, more compassionate way.
This lived experience deeply informs my work. I offer a safe, where your experience is seen and honoured. Whether you're struggling with a new diagnosis, feeling lost in the midst of your health journey, or carrying the emotional weight of it all, I’m here to walk alongside you with empathy, insight, and care.
I started my practice because I believe that with the right support, it’s possible to navigate these challenges with more compassion, clarity, and confidence, and to build a life that feels meaningful, even in the midst of illness.
My First session:
In our first session, we’ll explore your current challenges and what you’re hoping to achieve from therapy. We’ll also review the counselling agreement, giving you a chance to ask any questions about my practice or how I work. Together, we’ll begin identifying your therapy goals and discuss any potential risks to your wellbeing, as well as the support network you have in place. From there, we’ll start working collaboratively toward positive change and personal growth.
Introductory calls:
I offer an initial free of charge 15-minute telephone/online consultation for you to introduce yourself and talk about the reasons you’ve come to therapy. If you then decide that you would like to work with me, I can offer flexibility with short-term or longer-term work.
If you’re ready to see how therapy can support you, let’s connect. Go to my ‘Contact Me’ page and book a free introductory call to chat about what you’re going through and how I can support you.
